Since 2024, several corporate volunteering initiatives have been launched in collaboration with the lastminute.com group
Our projects — completed and ongoing:
SUPPORT AND SUSTAIN CHILDREN
The project has taken place in collaboration with the Support and Sustain Children (SSCH) Association, which received a donation from the Foundation to support ESPERO, an initiative dedicated to training and supporting Syrian female engineers involved in sustainable regeneration and redevelopment projects in their local areas.
As part of its corporate mentorship programme, Lastminute.com was able to involve its employees, facilitating, with the Foundation’s assistance, an exchange of skills and practical support for the participants’ professional development. Following the project pitches, over 13 employees chose to mentor the candidates on topics such as business plans, business models, English conversation and other key skills, with the aim of preparing them for their presentation to potential investors.
The mentorship programme will continue into 2026, with dedicated support for the three projects selected in the final phase, thereby reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to promoting professional empowerment and pathways to recovery in fragile contexts.
DIGITAL SKILLS FOR INCLUSION
In 2026, the Foundation chose to partner with lastminute.com and the Frequenze Association on the Digital Skills for Inclusion mentorship project, in order to design and deliver IT training programs for unemployed people or individuals facing other forms of social vulnerability living in Chiasso and the surrounding area. The initiative aims to strengthen digital skills as a lever for inclusion and access to new professional opportunities.
VOLUNTEERING REWARD INITIATIVE
The Foundation has chosen to recognize the commitment of lastminute.com teams to sustainability initiatives through a donation to an association nominated by the team that wins the Clean Up Challenge.
In 2025, the donation went to Reforesta, a Spanish association active in the fight against climate change. In 2026, the Chiasso team, winner of the challenge, chose to support the Amici del Calicantus association.
VOLUNTEERING AND FUNDRAISING COURSES
Over the years, the Foundation has engaged in an informal dialogue with lastminute.com employees, with the aim of better understanding their needs, expectations, and ways of getting involved in corporate volunteering activities.
Out of these exchanges came the design of a training program dedicated to volunteering and another dedicated to fundraising. The program includes specific content aimed at making volunteering more effective, mindful, and impact-oriented. The program began in May 2026 and provides practical tools to make the most of the two paid volunteering days that the company offers each year.
