Training in fundraising

From 2024, the Foundation launched a structured programme to support the fundraising capabilities of small and medium-sized non-profit organisations operating in Ticino. The aim is to provide practical tools to identify fundraising needs, develop effective strategies and strengthen long-term financial sustainability.
Since 2025, the Foundation has expanded its offering to include free training courses, both individual and group-based, as well as pro bono consultancy services aimed at organisations, institutions, and schools and universities. The service comprises personalised training and mentoring sessions, delivered with the support of a dedicated tutor or the President, as well as the awarding of grants.

Among the resources made available by the Foundation are grants awarded to certain organisations in Ticino to enable them to attend the Fundraising Festival, one of Europe’s most important events in this field, which promotes not only the acquisition of high-level skills but also the exchange of ideas with colleagues from other organisations.

Furthermore, during 2025, numerous non-profit organisations and universities sought the President’s direct support to address organisational and strategic challenges, including internal board conflicts, difficulties in setting up structured fundraising, project implementation issues, complex partnerships and digitalisation processes. Both one-off and ongoing meetings were organised, averaging around two sessions per week, primarily for organisations operating in Switzerland and Italy.

Overall, the project enabled the Foundation to consolidate valuable local relationships, integrating training, mentorship, consultancy and events to strengthen the organisations’ activities and sustainability in the medium to long term.
